Publishing Policies

 1.1 Copyright Policy

Before the papers can be published on SCHORES, at least one of the authors of every accepted paper will be required to submit a Copyright Transfer Form. Articles without a duly signed Copyright Transfer Form will not be included in the conference proceedings or journals. Completed forms should be submitted to the TPC Chair of the respective conference using the SCHORES Author Account.

All conference and journal papers are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, even commercially, as long as the original work is properly cited. The publisher is not responsible for subsequent uses of the work. By submitting the Copyright Transfer Form, the authors permit the publisher to apply for a DOI to their articles, archive them in third-party databases and indexes, and edit the material to meet publication standards.

1.2    Open Access Policy

We follow an Open Access policy for the publishing of journals and conference proceedings. This means that our journals and conference proceedings provide immediate open access for readers to all articles on SCHORES and our websites. Readers are therefore allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

All articles published under the Open Access policy are distributed under the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license.

1.3    Submission Policy

All author submissions will be accepted through the SCHORES Editorial System at www.schores.org. To submit a paper for review in SCHORES conferences and journals, authors are required to use their SCHORES Author Account. The SCHORES Author Account provides authors with facilities such as:

  • Online submission of articles to SCHORES conferences and journals

  • Access to reviewer decisions and feedback

  • Communication with Editors and TPC Chairs

  • Uploading camera-ready versions of accepted papers

  • Accessing their article submission history

Once created, the SCHORES Author Account can be used for all future submissions.

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract, lecture, or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration elsewhere, and that its publication is approved by all authors and, where applicable, by the authorities responsible where the work was carried out. SCHORES also accepts submissions that are extended versions of articles previously appearing on preprint servers, journals, conference proceedings, blogs, or posters. Authors are responsible for updating the archived preprints with the journal reference and a link to the published article on the appropriate conference or journal website upon publication.

SCHORES Publishing only accepts articles in Microsoft Word format. Submitted articles must strictly conform to the SCHORES Article Template, available on the conference or journal website. Papers not conforming to the prescribed template will not be considered for review.

1.4      Plagiarism Policy

SCHORES Publishing has a zero-tolerance plagiarism policy. All submitted articles are checked using third-party plagiarism detection tools. Every submission is screened for plagiarism before being sent to reviewers. SCHORES maintains a strict stance on self-plagiarism, as it does not contribute to research integrity or scientific progress.

When plagiarism is detected, SCHORES Publishing will take actions based on the type and severity of plagiarism. Unless determined otherwise during the investigation, all authors are considered individually and collectively responsible for the content of a plagiarized article. The Editorial Board or Technical Programme Committee prioritizes the investigation of each plagiarism claim for rapid resolution.

If plagiarism is detected prior to publication, the paper will be rejected, and the authors will be notified. In cases of plagiarism in a published article and confirmed misconduct, the following actions may be taken:

  • A formal letter will be sent to all authors informing them of the misconduct.

  • The authors’ affiliated universities or departments will be notified.

  • Authors found guilty of misconduct will be banned from future publications with SCHORES.

  • The article will be removed from online access and replaced with a retraction notice.

  • Efforts will be made to retract the article from other online indexing and archiving services.

Depending on the degree of plagiarism, context within the article, and its impact on research integrity, SCHORES may also issue corrections to the original publication.

1.5     Correction and Retraction Policy

Publishable amendments will be represented by a formal online notice when they affect the publication record and/or the scientific accuracy of published information. Amendments concerning peer-reviewed material fall into the following categories:

Publisher Correction: Notification of an important error made by the journal that affects the publication record, the scientific integrity of the paper, or the reputation of the authors or the journal.

Author Correction: Notification of an important error made by the author(s) that affects the publication record, the scientific integrity of the paper, or the reputation of the authors or the journal.

Retraction: All co-authors must sign a Retraction specifying the error and briefly stating how the conclusions are affected, and submit it for publication. In cases where co-authors disagree, the in-house editors may seek advice from independent referees and determine the most appropriate type of amendment, noting dissenting author(s) in the published version.

Addendum: Addenda are published when the in-house editors determine that the addendum is crucial for the reader’s understanding of a significant part of the published contribution.

1.6   Appeals Policy

Editors have broad discretion in determining whether an article is an appropriate fit for their journal or conference. Many manuscripts are declined with a general statement of the rejection decision. These decisions are not eligible for formal appeal unless the author believes the rejection was based on an error in the review of the article. In such cases, the author may appeal by providing the Editor with a detailed written description of the perceived error.

If an author believes the decision regarding their manuscript was affected by a publication ethics breach, they may contact SchoRes Publishing with a detailed written description of their concern and supporting information at info@schores.org.

1.7  Complaints Procedure

Concerns regarding SchoRes Publishing may be submitted with a detailed written description and supporting information to info@schores.org. SchoRes Publishing will acknowledge receipt of the complaint and investigate it in accordance with relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), where applicable.

1.8    Waivers and Incentives Policy

Conference authors are required to pay a registration fee, and journal authors are required to pay a processing fee for each article published. These fees support the operational costs of open-access journals. From time to time, waivers and incentives may be offered to authors, editorial board members, and technical programme committee members. The details of waivers and incentives, including the amounts, are displayed on the respective conference or journal website, typically under the Awards and Grants section. SchoRes Publishing reserves the right to withdraw any waiver, incentive, grant, or award at any time without prior notice.

1.9   Refund Policy

SchoRes Publishing does not provide a refund of the article processing fee once paid. For conference articles:

A full refund will be issued if the request is made 90 days (3 months) prior to the conference start date.

A half refund will be issued if the request is made 60 days (2 months) prior to the conference start date.

No refunds will be issued thereafter.

Refunds are subject to the deduction of necessary processing charges. Requests must be submitted via email to the TPC Chair of the conference. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the conclusion of the conference.
