Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly evolved from a technical tool to an active agent in creative fields, profoundly influencing the domains of art and literature. Once limited to mechanistic and repetitive tasks, AI now contributes to imaginative and expressive processes traditionally considered uniquely human. This paper surveys the multifaceted impact of AI as a creative entity, focusing on how it redefines authorship, aesthetic value, and the creative process itself in the context of visual arts and literary production. Recent developments in generative models such as GPT, DALL·E, Midjourney, and other AI systems have opened new frontiers for storytelling, image generation, and poetic composition. These systems challenge the boundaries between machine and human creativity by producing artworksand texts that mimic, complement, or even surpass traditional modes of expression. In literature, AI generated poetry, novels, and scripts are reshaping ideas of originality and authorship, while in visual arts, algorithmic creativity is producing abstract art, photorealistic images, and experimental designs at scale. This transformation raises critical questions about ownership, intention, and the role of the artist in the age of automation. This paper explores the applications implications, and critiques of AI generated art and literature, drawing on examples from contemporary digital culture, publishing platforms, and artistic collaborations. It considers the philosophical, ethical, and cultural debates surrounding AI's creative autonomy and its impact on human identity, emotion, and imagination. Additionally, it investigates how artists, writers, and audiences perceive and interact with AI as co-creators. By surveying both the technological mechanisms and the socio-cultural reception of AI-generated creativity, the paper aims to provide a balanced understanding of how AI is transforming the cultural landscape. Ultimately, it examines whether AI can truly "create" in a human sense, or whether its outputs reflect new forms of collaboration and interpretation in a digitally augmented world.
